Humber Freedom Flotilla
A referendum on the United Kingdom's membership of the European Union is due to take place on 23 June 2016. The 'Leave' or 'Brexit' campaigners held a publicity stunt on the Humber estuary. A flotilla of four fishing boats and two pleasure craft sailed from Grimsby to the confluence of the estuary and the river Hull (depicted), thence to Victoria Pier, St Andrew's Dock and the Humber Bridge, before returning to Grimsby.
The Humber Estuary
The Humber Estuary or River Humber is a large tidal estuary on the east coast of Northern England. It is formed at Trent Falls by the confluence of the tidal rivers Ouse and Trent. From there to the North Sea, it forms part of the boundary between the East Riding of Yorkshire on the north bank and North Lincolnshire on the south bank.
