Forterra Brickworks, Kings Dyke

The King's Dyke brickworks is the last operational of several such productions sites in the Whittlesey area. It concentrates on production of the classic "London brick" produced from the Oxford Clay found in the area, using natural clay with no added water. The bricks are fired in "Hoffman" type brick kilns. The works was opened in 1969 in a worked out clay pit, and is currently operated by the Forterra group.
