Station Construction at Maybury
A new station is being built between the Gogar and Maybury roundabouts on the A8, which will connect the railway from the north to the Edinburgh tram system which connects with the airport.
Edinburgh Gateway

A new £41million railway station built on the western outskirts of Edinburgh to link trains from the north with the Edinburgh Trams which provide a service to the airport. Construction began in January 2015 and it was opened by the Scottish Minister for Transport and the Islands on 9 December 2016. There is also pedestrian access from the station to the Gyle Centre and the A8 Glasgow-Edinburgh road. It is part of the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) which includes the electrification of central Scotland’s railway infrastructure to give increased capacity and faster speeds on key routes. It has two 265m (10 car) platforms and a large concourse. There is step free access to the platforms and the tram stop. The tram stop is an addition to the existing tram line, between those at the Gyle Centre and Gogarburn.
