Ensbury Park: bridleway N03 diverges acutely from Boundary Road
Boundary Road was once, as its name suggests, a significant boundary: it was here that Dorset became Hampshire until 1904, when the area to the west of here was transferred from Poole to Bournemouth. Bournemouth borough has remained the same since, but in 1974 it was all transferred from Hampshire to Dorset.

However, the boundary didn't actually follow the exact course of the modern A347 - it ran south from here a couple of degrees to the east, following the course of the path, seen diverging to the left in the middle-distance.

At that time, it was a gravel or dirt track, but it is now a paved path at this end, becoming a paved road intermittently further along.

The bridleway starts at Eldon Road, whose dead end is seen at bottom-left, and passes the end of Namu, Norton, Fernside, Glenmoor and Firs Glen Roads, a distance of 570 metres.

See SZ0894 : Ensbury Park: the start of bridleway N03 for the next in a series of photos along the bridleway.
