Originally when the National Trust took on the lease for Croome Court it didn't include the Red Wing which remained in private ownership. It was in a parlous state with a leaking roof when the National Trust acquired it in 2011, since then the roof has been repaired to keep the weather out, though there is no money currently to restore the interior. This Grade I listed building was designed as a service wing to Croome Court by Capability Brown in the 1750s. It was built for the 6th Earl of Coventry and in old age he lived in one of the rooms in this wing.
