NU0725 : Wall rebuilding on south side of Chillingham estate

taken 4 years ago, near to Hepburn, Northumberland, Great Britain

Wall rebuilding on south side of Chillingham estate
Wall rebuilding on south side of Chillingham estate
The structure is being rebuilt not as a dry-stone wall where stones are held in place by jamming and friction but one where the stones are effectively 'glued' together using a cement and sand mix... mortar.
The wall has been dismantled and its stones are being reassembled using the wooden frame at the centre of the image as a 'template' for consistency in the wall's profile. Behind the camera position there was a store of sand, cement and a sophisticated mobile mixer.
