Former Barclays Bank, High Street, Glastonbury
Former Barclays Bank, High Street, Glastonbury
By pure coincidence the three high-street banks all closed their Glastonbury branches within a few weeks of each other in early 2016. The Barclays logo has been quickly removed from the fašade, but the Barclays eagle logo remains between the upper windows. The former location of the cash machine has been filled in with matching stone work. According to the Pevsner guide, the neo-Tudor frontage was built as late as 1957, which may explain why the building is not listed.
