In practice, Manx Electric Railway no.22 has a replica body, built following a fire in the original. G F Milnes of Birkenhead were a prominent builder of tramcars in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It is relatively unusual to see two Snaefell cars together at Laxey; in this case no.2 had been brought out in preparation for evening service, which occurs on selected days only.
The Manx Electric Railway
The Manx Electric Railway is an electric inter-urban tramway connecting Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey in the Isle of Man. It connects with the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway at its southern terminus at Derby Castle at the northern end of the promenade in Douglas, and with the Snaefell Mountain Railway at Laxey. The railway's route is undulating and passes through areas of scenic beauty.

It connects with the Manx Electric Railway (MER) in Laxey. The line is five miles long, built to 3 ft 6 in gauge and uses a Fell Incline Railway System centre rail for braking on the steep gradients. It is electrified using overhead wires at 550 volts direct current, with bow collectors.
