The War Memorial at Portpatrick
The Portpatrick war memorial stands at the road junction near the entrance to the village. It is in the form of a Celtic-style wheel cross on a tapering plinth with a three stepped base. There is a wreath in the centre of the cross head and Celtic tracery on the cross arms.
The inscription reads:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN HONOUR OF
THE MEN OF THIS PARISH
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE
GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918
