A busy route looping eastwards from the A1 and serving Teeside, Sunderland, Tynemouth and the Tyne Tunnels. It was a handy detour during 2016 when there were major roadworks on the A1 Gateshead bypass. View from the Hawthorn/Ryhope Way.
