GSF Monarch Superstructure
GSF Monarch Superstructure
The number of drilling rigs in Cromarty Firth is a reflection of the price of oil, so when the price is high, the firth is empty, when its low, the firth is full. In 2016, there were at least a dozen rigs standing idle along the firth (see article in the Daily Record LinkExternal link for more discussion).

The rigs are huge, especially when you sail close by. This is the superstructure of NH7767 : Drilling Rig GSF Monarch in Cromarty Firth. (See LinkExternal link for more detail of GSF Monarch.)
