Wilhunter Rig Superstructure
Wilhunter Rig Superstructure
The number of drilling rigs in Cromarty Firth is a reflection of the price of oil, so when the price is high, the firth is empty, when its low, the firth is full. In 2016, there were at least a dozen rigs standing idle along the firth including the semi-submersible rig Wilhunter.

The rigs are huge, especially when you sail close by. This is the superstructure of NH7267 : Drilling Rig Wilhunter in The Cromarty Firth. (See LinkExternal link for more detail of Wilhunter.)
