The Bishopley limekilns
The Bishopley limekilns
There are two sets of kilns, each with four arches, situated on the north bank of the Bollihope Burn; both kilns are Grade II listed LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link . The text of the listing says that the kilns were built "probably (in the) mid-19th C for the Stockton and Darlington Railway Company".

A view of the kilns not obscured by the vegetation is shown in NZ0236 : Disused lime kilns (photographed by Helen Wilkinson).
