Trees beside Blue House Corner
Where the Great North Road, Grandstand Road, and Jesmond Dene Road converge beside an old police house.
A congestion point for decades, every measure taken to reduce traffic flows has been overwhelmed by yet more traffic. The current roundabout is now considered a safety blackspot, so it had been proposed to build a much bigger roundabout behind the police house, largely on the Dukes Moor to the left, and the Little Moor beyond the old A1. The ribbons signified trees at risk. A reprieve has been given, but something will have to be changed.
