Welcome to Scotland sign on the A7 road, near Scotsdike, Dumfries & Galloway
As the years roll by the design of this sign, slightly north of the border between England & Scotland, changes. This is the one greeting you in September 2016. The greeting is repeated in Gaelic below the English wording. Just beyond it is a sign welcoming you to Dumfries & Galloway, the "First in Scotland". This is followed by a standard road sign on the usual dark green background, and then there is an illuminated sign saying "Welcome to Scotland Visitscotland.com".
