Scree shadows
Setting out early in the morning gave us the advantage of interesting lighting, with shadows from the crags of the escarpment falling onto the scree slopes. The light also gives contrast to the individual rock strata in the background, and accentuates their dip, which is due to earth movements of the Hercynian period.
