Reconstruction of Bridge Street bridge, Newport

The electrification of the South Wales Mainline requires that a number of bridges in and around Newport undergo modification as they are too low to accommodate the overhead wires.
One of these is the Bridge Street bridge which is to the south-west of Newport Station.
Diversions have had to be put in place on the busy B4591.
The bridge being replaced was constructed in 1911.
