The blue plaque indicates that this magnificent pile was the birthplace in 1893 of Vera Brittain, noted WWI nurse, writer, feminist and pacifist. Round the corner in Brampton Park is a bench sculpture of Brittain Link and an inscription featuring an extract from her most famous work 'Testament of Youth' Link
