Now a performance space and home to the London Symphony Orchestra, this former church was partly designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor and, like all his city churches, boasts an inventive tower and spire unlike any of his other creations (see LinkExternal link ).
Occult fictions have been woven around these churches, most notably by Iain Sinclair in his poem "Lud Heat" and the better-known novel "Hawksmoor" by Peter Ackroyd (see LinkExternal link ).
