SD7075 : Spoil tip above Kingsdale

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from Ingleton, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Spoil tip above Kingsdale
Spoil tip above Kingsdale
Upon seeing 'Tip (dis)' on the map I decided to go and investigate. The tip is completely overgrown and so it is difficult to see what was being mined/prospected here. The level is presumably just above in the dry gully but I did not investigate too closely. Given the rock (limestone) and location I would suspect lead was the mineral interest here. There are small lead workings on Ingleborough not too far away SD7274 : Lead workings, Lead Mine Moss, Ingleborough.
