The Homeless World Cup is an annual football tournament organised by the Homeless World Cup organisation Link , a social organisation which advocates the end of homelessness through the sport of association football.

The organisation puts together an annual football tournament where teams of homeless people from each country compete.

The fourteenth edition of the tournament was held in Glasgow in July 2016. Temporary arenas with seating stands were set up in George Square. The tournament was won by Mexico, the defending champions, who also won in Amsterdam in 2015.

"People Make Glasgow" is the city's latest promotion campaign. In the days and weeks leading up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the campaign slogan has been popping up at various prominent locations in and around the city centre.
