Hove Lagoon
Once the site of the mouth of the River Adur until it was blocked and recut elsewhere in the early nineteenth century. The area remained marshy ground until the 1920s when the local council landscaped the area and turned it into a boating lake. It is still used for watersports though tends to be used as a learning pool for windsurfers and the like. The building on the left is the boathouse. Beyond the lagoon is Aldrington Basin and the start of the industrial area of the canal marked by the tall floodlight.
