The north-south route has taken over the width of one vehicle lane on Blackfriars Bridge, which now sees more bicycles than motor vehicles in the morning rush hour. LinkExternal link

To supplement the existing cycle "superhighways" on radial routes from the suburbs, two new and largely segregated routes have been added across the city centre, the east-west one running largely along the north side of the Thames.
