Planning permission has been granted by Canterbury City Council under application number CA//15/01484 for the “change of use from basement public toilets (sui generis) to a mixed, cafe/bar use (use classes A3 and A4)”. It appeared that a waterproofing compound had been applied to the roof of the new business, which is why the area had been enclosed with fencing.
