Exposed tilted bed on the beach, near Hanover Point
This bed of rock must have been more resistant to erosion than the beds immediately above and below it, as it remains jutting out of the sandy beach between Hanover Point and Shippards Chine. A similar bed, higher in the series, can be seen further down the beach. The green covering of seaweed shows that these rocks are submerged at high tide. I'm not a geological expert, but I do know that these are Cretaceous rocks and they contain dinosaur fossils (footprints and bones).
