Former Kings Christian Centre
Former Kings Christian Centre
Claremont Congregational Church on the corner of Warley Road and Gynn Avenue was built by the mayor, Alderman T H Smith, from the designs of Messrs Anderson Simon and Crawford, architects, of Edinburgh and opened on 30th August 1901 LinkExternal link. It closed in 1994 but later re-opened as the Kings Christian Centre. There is outline planning permission to demolish it and build new apartments but for now the building remains standing but vacant.
