taken 5 years ago, near to Cockley Beck, Cumbria, Great Britain

Eskdale Needle and the upper Esk gorge
Eskdale Needle and the upper Esk gorge
A rather stumpy and shattered-looking pillar of rock overlooking the uninhabited expanse of Upper Eskdale. Its first recorded ascent was as recently as 1959 by a 'Severe' route up the longer, valley side. It is also known as The Steeple. Beyond, are the numerous falls and cascades of the upper Esk originating in the aptly-named Great Moss.
