Monaghan Courthouse viewed across Church Square

Designed by Joseph Welland and built in 1830, this classic courthouse building has a columnar sandstone façade. The pediment above the columns bears the arms of the House of Hanover. The tower of St Patrick's CoI - built two years later - can be seen on the extreme left of the image.
