SP0096 : The M6 at a quiet time

taken 3 years ago, near to Wednesbury, Sandwell, Great Britain

The M6 at a quiet time
The M6 at a quiet time
Photographed at lunchtime, one of the quieter times of day, the M6 was as busy as most other motorways at peak hour. It is normal now for the hard shoulder to be used as a running lane, making a breakdown both dangerous for those affected and an immediate source of traffic chaos. In continental Europe, multiple motorways would have been constructed by now, but in the UK, dithering is preferred.
