Autumnal colours in the gardens of Burrswood Hospital

Burrswood Hospital describes itself as a "Christian hospital and place of healing". It is to be found at the end of a half mile long drive, leading off the triangular green at the northern end of Groombridge. In 1948, the land and buildings making up the core of the present-day Burrswood estate were purchased.

It has a tea room which is open to the public and extensive gardens which you are allowed to walk around. The wide range of exotic trees in the grounds gives the variety of colours in autumn.

Sadly in March 2019 Burrswood Hospital went into administration and the tea room is no more.
