Waterworks River, Stratford
Waterworks River is an artificial channel, cut for the Stratford Waterworks (later purchased by the East London Waterworks Company) in 1743, from the Old River Lee channel (above Old Ford Lock), to supply a reservoir at Saynes Mill, Stratford. It was widened to 100 feet in the 1930s as part of a project to prevent flooding in Stratford.

The river is one of the Bow Back Rivers (LinkExternal link Canal & River Trust) that flow into the Bow Creek part of the River Lea, which in turn flows into the River Thames.

The coloured posts rising from the water near the opposite bank are part of an artwork called STELES by Keith Wilson (LinkExternal link Art in the Park Field guide).
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park :: TQ3784
The park was built as part of the venue for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, and was further developed over a number of years after the games.

Three significant buildings used during the games can be found in the park, including the Olympic stadium, Aquatics Centre, and Velodrome, as well as The ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture.

The River Lea also runs through the site.
