This ford at Fairhaugh is perhaps the most inaccessible ford we have ever visited. We are advised that in recent years the ford was washed out and the new bridge added since this image was taken back in 2007:

"The new bridge has been added to facilitate harvesting of the conifers covering the majority of Middle Hill. As long as I can recall the ford has always been here in much the same condition although the depth depends on the amount of water in the burn." Geoff Holland
