The City of Norwich's Christmas theme for 2016 is all about light. There are altogether three commissioned original film projections, each with a Christmas theme and set to music. They can be seen every night between 5pm and 9pm, lasting 20 minutes. The projections appear on two iconic city buildings - the Art Deco City Hall and the Norwich Castle Museum. At City Hall, the projection covers the whole width of the building, telling a traditional Christmas narrative. At Norwich Castle two 21m high, 10-minute films of contemporary Christmas adventure can be seen.

The UK's first immersive ‘Tunnel of Light’, where visitors can experience walking through a 4m high, 6m wide and 45m long tunnel made from 50,000 pulsating LEDs, can be seen at Hay Hill, adjacent to St Peter Mancroft church, opposite the Forum. The sequenced lights reflect patterns and colours of the Northern Lights. The installation was inspired by Nagashia Resort’s theme park in Nabana no Sato in Japan.
