Exit from Fairlop Waters Country Park
Fairlop Waters Country Park was originally part of Epping Forest, before becoming farmland and then more recently a quarry and landfill site. Fairlop Waters Country Park is now an area of open countryside access with a wide diversity of habitats including lakes and ponds, woodland and grassland. A substantial part of the country park is a golf course. It is the largest country park and leisure facility in Redbridge.
Fairlop Water is in the northern part of the country park, just south of Forest Road. This is the first entrance reached when walking along Forest Road from Fairlop station. It leads to a well surfaced path parallel to Forest Road but sufficiently away from it to give a much pleasanter approach than walking along the busy road.
