Three coffee shops, Donegall Square West, Belfast (December 2016)
Sounding a bit like an old codger but I can remember only too well when, back in the 1970’s, apart from an occasional loafer with a can of “Special Brew”, I was the only pedestrian in the centre of Belfast on a Sunday morning. Just after 11am these coffee shops (left to right: “Patisserie Valerie” Link “Caffè Nero” Link and “Greggs” Link ) were all doing steady business from locals and visitors alike.
The Scottish Provident Building, Belfast :: J3374
The Scottish Provident Building was built between 1897 and 1902. A triumphant finale to the Victorian era it announces its greatness over more than half of Donegall Square West. It is so rich in architectural detail that it would warrant its own book. This is a collection of photographs mainly showing the extravagant detail present in the building.
