Light Festival at MediaCityUK
Looking across North Bay towards MediaCityUK. In addition to the normal lights of BBC studios and offices, some illuminated figures can be seen on the opposite side of the dock. The figures were borrowed from the Blackpool illuminations for the annual light festival organised by Quays Culture. This year, the festival ran from December 9-18, between midday and 10.30pm daily (although obviously it was better viewed after sunset!).

Quays Culture - Lightwaves
Lightwaves claims to be the UK’s largest free outdoor digital art light show. The annual festival, hosted by Quays Culture, showcases an eclectic programme of digital light art, taking over public spaces in Salford Quays and MediaCityUK each December. Each year, Lightwaves features new and exclusively commissioned digital art displays alongside tableaux borrowed from the Blackpool Illuminations.
