Studland: the Agglestone
Studland: the Agglestone
This huge lump of sandstone is reckoned to weigh around 500 tons. There are stories of it having been thrown by the devil, aiming for Corfe Castle. John Webber, in 1853, wrote:

...the famous Agglestone,
Said to be by Satan, thrown
At Corfe Castle in the night
From the neighb'ring Isle of Wight

He undershot by a couple of miles!
