All Saints' church
Grade II* listed.
The church dates from Norman times, but the present nave was built in the Early English style around the year 1150 by one of the Priors of Thornholm.
The south aisle was added around 1450, the west tower some 50 years later and the Jacobean porch around 1600.
The octagonal font is 15th C.
The original chancel was rebuilt in 1888 and at that time the organ by Parsons of Bloomsbury, originally built in 1830, was purchased second hand. There is a fine reredos in Pre Raphaelite style from 1915.
Considerable damage was done to the west end of the church by bombs during WW2. This was repaired and at the time a spectacular job was done by Messrs Pickup of Burgh-le-Marsh when the north wall which was leaning perilously was winched back into its proper alignment.
In the 1980’s the pews were removed due to woodworm and the original organ at the west end of the church became unusable and was removed.
