Swanage: Wellington clock tower and pier
Swanage: Wellington clock tower and pier
The Wellington clock tower originally stood at the southern end of London Bridge installed there in 1854 at a cost of 700, it did not keep good time. With increasing traffic, it became something of an obstruction and it was removed to Swanage in 1867. The clock never came. It used to possess a spire but that became unsafe and was removed in 1904.
