Ryhope (East) railway station (site), County Durham
Opened in 1855 by the Londonderry Seaham & Sunderland Railway, later part of the North Eastern Railway, this station closed to passengers in 1960 and completely in 1964.
View north east towards what would have been the forecourt. The railway is hidden behind the fencing. The later construction of the A1018 in the foreground removed all trace of the station remains. For more information, see LinkExternal link.
Ryhope also had another station just 150m away - see NZ4152 : Ryhope railway station (site), County Durham.
