Hythe Station
Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway no 12 J B Snell waits at Hythe Station ready to haul the 12.10 departure for Dungeness.

The locomotive was built in 1983 by TMA Engineering and uses a Perkins 112 bhp 6 cylinder diesel engine. Originally named John Southland, it was renamed J B Snell in May 2014. The original name commemorated the founder of the local secondary school in New Romney while its current name commemorates John Snell, who was managing director of the railway from 1972 to 1999 before becoming vice-chairman and secretary and who died in late December 2013.
