Enjoying the wildflowers, St Nicholas Park, Warwick, 2016
This is one of two swathes of ground seeded by the parks service with species of wildflowers that were once common on arable land. It's the first year this has been tried in the park and has been greatly admired, despite one or two curmudgeonly objections when the plan was announced. This couple was entranced. Drifts of wildflowers and grasses have been a much-enjoyed part of the scene in Abbey Fields, Kenilworth, for many years. Councils are required to increase biodiversity in their areas.
