SH5547 : Moel Hebog mine - main level

Moel Hebog mine - main level
Moel Hebog mine - main level
This is the main level driven into the 19th century Moel Hebog copper mine, high up on the western slopes of Moel Hebog mountain. Never a rich mine, a combination of altitude and remoteness made transport and waterpower difficult. The site is littered with waste rock from simple manual crushing and sorting processes.
