The Swanley to Sevenoaks Bat & Ball line was opened on 2nd June 1862 by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company. Electric services between Bickley and Sevenoaks were introduced on 6th January 1935.
This is the view from the footpath between Eynsford and Eagle Heights, followed by the Darent Valley Path, where it crosses the line looking towards the Darent Valley. Old man's beard (also known as traveller's joy) is a very common sight in hedgerows in winter - see

The line was unusually busy on this Saturday as the direct line between Bickley and Sevenoaks was closed for engineering work, with the result that all trains to and from Victoria and Charing Cross via Tonbridge to and from Hastings, Dover Priory and Ramsgate were crossing Eynsford Viaduct. Interspersed with these were the usual services on the line such as this Thameslink train on its way to Sevenoaks.
Incredibly, considering how peaceful this spot is, it was proposed before the war to open a four-platform station between here and Eynsford Tunnel and build an airport which the station would serve - see
