taken 7 years ago, near to Dunston, Norfolk, England

The River Tas south-west of Venta Icenorum
The River Tas south-west of Venta Icenorum
The River Tas rises near Carleton Fen (near New Buckenham) and then flows northwards for approximately 20 miles before joining the River Yare at Trowse - just south of Norwich. The Tas valley contains many interesting historical sites including an Iron Age hill fort > Link at Tasburgh, the old Roman settlement of Venta Icenorum > Link - now Caistor St Edmund - and the site of a woodhenge > Link at Arminghall. During Roman times, the river was an important resource for the people of Venta Icenorum.
