Common Farm Barns
Common Farm Barns
Barn conversions at Common Farm. The very large main barn was built in around 1740. It has chequered brickwork, with black brick lined by red on the east buttresses. Two projecting wings, developments of cart-porches, adjoin to the west. This barn comprises five stead of which two original arched braces to tiebeams remain. Adjacent is a building of similar date constructed as part timber framed and part brick which was reduced in size in the 19th century. The third building in this complex is 19th century clay lump combined with wattle and daub. The buildings are Grade II listed.
