The A3220 is a 5 mile long primary A road. It runs north from Clapham Common to the A40 Westway at Ladbroke Grove. The road crosses the River Thames at Battersea Bridge.

Battersea Bridge :: TQ2777

The first Battersea Bridge was a wooden structure opened in 1771 (1772 to vehicles). This bridge was the last remaining wooden bridge on the Thames when it was demolished in 1885.
The present bridge is a 5 span cast iron and granite cantilever bridge, built by Sir Joseph Bazelgette in 1890. It has a span of 221 metres. It is one of the narrowest and least busy of the London bridges. A Grade II listed structure. LinkExternal link
