Flag Court, Courtenay Terrace, Kingsway, Hove
The current block of flats are located between TQ2804 : Courtenay Gate, Courtenay Terrace, Kingsway to the east and TQ2804 : Courtenay Terrace, Kingsway, Hove to the west and were built around 1960. Originally the site had been the western end of Mills Terrace which had ebeen constructed in the 1820s and demolished in 1899. The site remained empty until 1918 when a large house called Flag Court was built. When neighbouring Courtenay Gate was built in 1934 the owner decided to sell up for development and the house was subsequently demolished in 1938 though the onset of war meant the site once more would lay empty for a couple of decades prior to the current block being erected.
