TQ2981 : Oxford Circus, W1

taken 18 years ago, near to Marylebone, Westminster, England

Oxford Circus, W1
Oxford Circus, W1
Looking across Oxford Circus from the north-west to the south-east with Oxford Street to the left and Regent Street to the right. The main entrance to Oxford Circus Underground station is the twin arched terra cotta coloured building, although each corner of the Circus has its own flight of steps down to the station concourse, one of which can be seen in the foreground.

(Incidentally I have to say that I did not see the hoarding with Tezenis wrote large on it when I took the photograph, and I have to confess that prior to uploading this image I had no idea what Tezenis is or was. However Google tells me that they are an Italian lingerie brand and that they are taking over the old Shelleys building at Oxford Circus as a retail outlet, so you learn something every day...)
