Tesco was founded in East London in 1919 by Jack Cohen. The Tesco name first appeared in 1924.
In 1995 it became the UK's largest supermarket chain, and is now one of the top three in the world.

The retail and leisure park features 13 big name stores including a 24hr Tesco store and a large B&Q Warehouse which are a major draw for shoppers who then have the choice of visiting Boots, Currys and PC World amongst other big names at the shopping centre. It is located by the A259 at Glynde Gap.
